Isaac has this unique talent. He can tell you who anything in our house belongs to, just by smelling it.
Since he was a baby he has always been comforted most by holding his blanket to his nose while napping, or turning his nose toward my shirt or my arm when I held him.
I've accidentally made his bed with Levi's or Deacon's pillow because it looks just the same as his, and not five minutes after I put him to bed I'll hear a scuffle going on in their room, where Isaac has climbed down off his bunk, smelled the other pillows in the room, and is claiming his own back. He'll also know who the other pillows belong to, and will make sure that each boy ends up with the one that smells rightfully of him.
I can totally see this working for me. When the girls are teenagers, fighting over a shirt, each proclaiming it is theirs (as my sisters and I once did), I'll just calmly look up from what I'm doing, call in Isaac, he will smell it, and declare its rightful owner.
Love this kid.
