Playdough

My kids love playdough. I don't really care for store-bought playdough, mainly because tiny pieces of it somehow always seem to end up scattered and stuck in the carpet fibers, and the color is so hard to get out. Today I needed something to keep my boys busy so I could work with the girls on their language arts and spelling tests. So we made playdough, the good old fashioned salt, flour, and water recipe. Turned out great and the boys played for 2 whole hours.
I left them at the kitchen counter to play while I worked with the girls in the dining room, and often came back to find them doing things like this, on top of the counter, rolling their playdough into "snowballs", or making other creations. Would have preferred they sit on the stools, but they were being so good, and were pretty safe, just being unsanitary.....so, gotta pick your battles right?
And Lexx wanted to play too, so when she was done she made some fun creatures...

Homemade play dough really is the best kind. I know that when I worked at the daycare at SCC in the preschool room that they made their own and the kids loved it. They also made something they called slime I don't know if that was what it was really called but it was like play dough except it was more like slime. Anyway the kids enjoyed it.

I may or may not have used to eat that homemade playdough when I was younger...
