Well, when we found out the news that this was in fact boy #4 and that the testosterone in our home would win out after all, the girls were a little disappointed at first. So I told them we'd just have to have all that frilly girly fun with them, since they're going to be the girls in my life.
So about a month ago we got online and searched for hours through different bedding, and the girls indulged me and let me buy them this set.
We would love to paint their room to match, but with renting it's not really an option, so we found other ways to get creative.
So over the last few weeks we've been gathering ideas and materials to complete the new look. Mostly we used decor they already had and painted it with the new colors and theme. We got some sheer curtain scarfs and hung them above the head of their beds to turn them into "Princess beds". On their closet they have curtains that match the bedding, and in a corner you can't see they've got some little decor items that we re-did using fabric and ribbon that match their bedding as well.

Then the other night we stayed up pretty much all night enjoying the quiet of the kitchen and pulled out the paints. The girls painted pictures of several things they like, using the three main colors of the room.
It was a lot of fun. Then we framed them and hung them on their wall, they turned out so cute!

Very cute! You are giving me ideas on how I should do the twins room when they get big girl beds!! Where did you get the bedding? Great idea with the art work! Love it!
Oh, and BTW, LOVE your pregnant picture! ;)
Wow Stephi, your creative genes sure come out all the time and the girls are blessed with them too. I want to come and sleep in their beds, they look really soft and cozy. Ya know how sleeping pregnant goes. Anything soft like that looks appealing to lay down on. Guess what? I crave ice this pregnancy, makes me feel closer to you. =) I also crave snow...I will brush off the top layer and grab a handful of snow and eat it. I know, sounds gross...but it satisfies me somehow. =) I want and icemake like yours...but since it costs money...I think I am gonna talk Steven into getting me some sonic ice...if you go to sonic, you can buy a ten pound bag of small little round ice cubes for $1.50. I think I will do that asap. =) I love you stephi, thank you for always being such a great sister. =)
I absolutely love it! I really love the bedding and the art…wonderful! I think that it turned out great! Can't wait to see that little boy of yours. You are getting the end here. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that, and I'm sure it isn't soon enough!!
Beautiful! How fun to have girls to hang out with!
I love the artwork!! It looks like something you'd buy, sort of abstract and really cool looking with the colors! I love them, and they add a classy touch to the room. Looks like you had fun! I plan to spoil your girls, especially if I don't have any. :)
Way cute room, how creative you are. Want to come over and do Corissa's? She has been bugging me for a room make over. I bet the girls just love it.
