Sweet Moments

It's about 1:00 am, and I just got done tucking my kids all snugly back into bed. Back into bed because I got this overpowering craving about an hour and a half ago. For churros. You know, like the ones you can get at Costco? All cinnamony and sugary? Yummm....
Well there's this site that I truly love called allrecipes.com, so I figured hey, I bet they've got a recipe for churros. I typed it in, and sure enough. Who knew those things were so easy to make? I used a top rated recipe, and they turned out incredible. I don't even have a churro piper, I just used a gallon size ziplock bag.

So anyway, as I'm down in the kitchen coating my hot freshly fried churros in a big bowl of cinnamon and sugar, my kids start appearing one by one in the kitchen, a few rubbing their sleepy eyes and asking curiously, "What's that yummy smell?"
Should I have sent them back to bed to finish their good night's sleep?......Probably.
But instead I let them sit up at the counter and devour hot sugary churros with me.

Besides, since we do public school from home, it's not like they're going to be in trouble for being tardy tomorrow if they sleep in a little. But I did make them brush their teeth again before they went back to bed.

Can you teach me, please please please! YUMMY!! Never thought to look up recipes online! You are inspiring...as usual. :) I'd love to try your churros and be in the kitchen with you and cook together. It'd be so fun to just talk, and smell and taste yummy food. :)

How did you get them to have the ridges like the real ones?
