Day 7:

The Fu:
-Started the day with a hot shower right in the bathroom in our cabin, what a luxury after our previous 5 mornings.
-Drove down to Crater Lake, it was beautiful and incredibly blue.
-Stopped at Diamond Lake for lunch.
-Listened to the Mysterious Benedict Society on the way back to Cabin #40. An interesting book.
-BBQ'd for dinner.
-Had our best campfire yet, and roasted a whole bag of marshmallows.
-Took another hot shower before bed.

The Not so Fun :
-Took 2 hours to drive to Crater Lake, which was longer than we'd hoped.
-At Crater Lake, it cost 20 bucks to get in. (Oregon charges for EVERYTHING)
-The lake was beautiful, but signs warned that you should not attempt the hike down to the lake unless you were capable of the hike back up, which would apparently be equivalent to walking up 150 flights of stairs, or to the 75th floor of a building. Ummm, with 6 kids? I think not.
-Enjoy my $20 pictures.

Pretty view of the lake. I totally feel for you about the hiking and stuff with kids. It is fun to have our kids and do fun stuff with them, but some things will have to wait till we are older and they are grown. =) Like a trip to Italy for example. =) I want to go to Norway and see our family homestead. =) I love the cabin pics at night, looks so inviting. And I want marshmallows so bad now! =)
