Sixty Sticky Fingers

Isaac was sitting in the kitchen with me tonight as I cleaned up after dinner and he asked me, "Mommy, can dads go to work and be a teacher?"

I replied, "Yes, dads can certainly be teachers."

To this his whole face lit up and he said, "Oh good, because I was thinking... I want to be a teacher when I'm a dad."

I told him he can most definitely be a teacher, that he can be anything he wants to be, and asked him what kind of teacher he'd like to be.

His response: "Well, I was thinking....I know what 5 + 5 is, and I know how to make applesauce, and I noticed that you can see the big dipper in our Christmas tree lights, so I really want to teach astronomy."

And lately every time I open the freezer some random kitchen gadget falls out on me, only to find out it's another of Isaac's "experiments". He loves to see what will happen to things if they get too cold.

Oh, I love that kid.
