Look what we did today.....

I also went grocery shopping and they had this big bin full of cool little pumpkins and gourds. I bought 50 of them, I couldn't help myself. Last week that would have cost me $50 when they were priced $1 each. Tonight I paid $0.50. They were on sale for $.01. How could I resist?
We're going to make lots of fun Thanksgiving stuff with them: creatures, centerpieces, and candleholders. Fun fun fun. My holiday table will be gourd-geous. ha ha.

Wow!

Christmas? Gourds? :)

Maybe you make Christmas ornaments out of the gourds and decorate your tree with them:)

I have to admit, I am kind of a scrooge when it comes to Christmas, I hate that about me, but it's true. I get so burnt out on it! I was just telling Dave the other day how I don't want to decorate or set up the tree until maybe 2 weeks before Christmas. Last year, I took the tree down on Christmas night. What's wrong with me??????

I am anxious to see what you do with all your gourds-be sure to take some pictures:)

I totally hear ya Ness, I've taken the tree down even before Christmas on more than one holiday. :) It really is a lot of work to get it all up, make it fit with your current decor without feeling it overwhelming and cluttering, and with kids it can be nothing short of a nightmare! I'm so hoping that I can keep my patience with all the constant pulling on the tree branches and lights that my boys do and not just take it down before Christmas this year. Maybe we just won't put any ornaments on it, those are the real pain, my boys think they're toys and balls of course.
But hey, that might be really cool to hang a bunch of little gourds all over it for a "Thanksgiving tree", good idea! :)

We decorated gourds for Halloween this year, they're fun! I love how many kids you have! I can't wait to see what they end up as. :) You've inspired me, Christmas really should last longer anyway! What a cozy place to set up the tree, you have smart girls. :)

WOW that is a lot of gourds but knowing you you will have creative ways to use them all. You really do inspire me with all your crafty ideas too bad I didn't inherit any of that from my mom. That's okay I LOVE Christmas better than Thanksgiving anyway as long as you keep gratitude in your heart as far as I'm concerned you are truly celebrating the spirit of Thanksgiving anyway

Haha, I just realized I'd said I love how many kids you have, instead of kinds. Although I love both. ;)
