The Perfectly Cleaned Room

This morning I told the boys to head up and clean their bedroom before their cousins came over.
A little while later I kept coming upon these arrows made of foam blocks...

Once there were about 30 arrows all around the house (set up by this one and only 5-year old), I heard him instruct the following to his brothers:

* "You have to follow the arrows, and they lead to a treasure."
* "You only get 5 lives."
* "Some arrows lead to filthy tricks." (followed by Levi's mischievous hee hee hee hoo ha ha laugh)
* "If you follow one that leads to a dead end, it takes you in a portal all the way back to the beginning, and you lose a life." (they would then have to run all the way back upstairs and start over at the first arrow.)
* "And some also lead to fake treasures." (another hee hee hoo ha)
* "Ready, Go!"

And there was an undesigned bug in the game, who kept seeking to thwart one's knowledge of the right way to go by destroying arrows.

The "treasure" was a dart gun. *I've marked it with an arrow so you need not look too closely at the rest of this particular hiding spot.

Before their cousins arrived though, they were sent back to the task.
They did a good job, and were so proud to show me the results of their hard work.
I love those rumpled blankets....
...the toys shoved into their places without order.
They did their very best, and it was perfect.

That sounds like a fun game. They did a very good job and good for you for letting them enjoy the fruits of their labor instead of being too focused on perfection.

Hmmmm, this reminds me of a time...a long time ago, when YOUR mom told you to clean your room and you taught me that when you are putting laundry away you only have to fold the clothes on top and that the clothes underneath could be messy. :)

LOL, it's so funny the things we remember about each other Ness. I wonder if my girls have figured that one out yet. ;)

Sooo cute! Look at those wonderfully made beds ;-). Also, I love the arrows leading to the gun. So creative! Briggs loved that!

OH my goodness that was SO cute! I really had a great time reading to the end too! WHAT cuties! (I loved how your baby went along tackling the arrows! SO sounds like something my little Eli would do!) I love it!!!
