Well, Sunday morning August 15th, Bri came and woke me up and said Muffi was having her kittens. (This was the morning after we got her, so we got her not a day too soon!)
Sure enough, under Bri's bed, she'd already given birth to two kittens, and just as we moved her to a blanket under the armoire she had #3. Throughout the day, she had 3 more, for a total of six beautiful little bundles of fur.
All went well for the first two days, then Muffi started sneezing. By the next day she was wheezing pretty bad. The vet said she'd likely picked up an upper respiratory illness from the shelter, and we got her on antibiotics. Not a good thing though for these little babies to be exposed to so young, they'll likely all catch it, and I just hope they all make it through it.
So I am caring for 6 kids and 6 kittens right now, and it is both rewarding and exhausting. But I really want them to all survive if I can help it. Bri and Lexx are great kittensitters, and we are all just giving these little balls of fur and their mom all the love we can for as long as we can.
Here are a few pictures, just born.

They are now 12 days old, and a few are just starting to open their eyes.
Here are some pics from 2 days ago.
This is Pepé, and he is the only little boy. Five sisters, God bless him.
This is Cassiopeia, "Cassi", and she is the tiniest of the bunch.
Cleopatra, "Cleo"
This little girl looks a lot like Pepé, but with more white on her. Dabriah named her Oreo.
And these two little girls are Patches and Purrsilla, they almost look like little twins. Purrsilla just opened one eye.

Muffi is such a sweet tempered cat, she is easy to give her meds to, never tries to bite. I think it's funny she likes to sleep with her feet under the rug like this.

That is so wonderful Muffin is a lucky kitty. I'm glad to hear she and babies are doing better. It's amazing to watch the miracle that is life.
