My Lovely Lexxandria...
How is it that you are already 10!?
How did my chubby bright-eyed toddler with the purposely mismatched socks and adorable giggle become this beautiful young lady so quickly?
You are such a sweet girl with a one-of-a-kind personality.
You love purple and blue, and drawing rainbows and sunsets. You love babies and animals, and you even baby your stuffed animals.
You love to dress up fancy, and you love to dig in dirt.
You brought home a cabbage plant last June, and in your care it was practically a pet.
I love the way you turn all your o's into smiley faces.
I love the way you teach and mother your little brothers. Sometimes you're kind of bossy, and I realize how much of me you have in you.
It always makes me smile the way you carry bandaids with you everywhere. Whenever one of your little brothers gets a cut or a scratch, it is Lexxi they go to, who cleans them up promptly and whips a bandaid out of her stash to fix them up.
You still have the adorable giggle, and you love to laugh and make others laugh.
As I'm in the kitchen cleaning or cooking, a favorite sound is you and your sister singing in another room. You have such a lovely soprano voice, and you carry a tune remarkably well.
You are constantly creating. I find cute stories and craft projects all over the house, and I can always tell when they are yours.
You are such a fun girl with such a zest for life. Your personality adds so much to this family, and I am so grateful to have you.
We started your birthday off this year with your favorite dinner : Lasagna.
Your birthday cake request :
A cake that looks like a giant oreo cookie. And it was a lot of fun to make. Chocolate fudge cake, thick vanilla ice cream center, chocolate fudge frosting. And oreo sticks to hold the candles.
You had to work for your birthday gift this year. :)
I set up a scavenger hunt of several tiny gift boxes throughout the house. Each contained a clue that would lead you to the next box, eventually leading you to your actual present.
This was funny. One clue led you to your bed, and as you searched down in the covers you said excitedly, "There's something in here!", only to pull out a pair of your own dirty socks. We all got a laugh out of that.
Eeeeew. ;)
Finally you found the present. And after unwrapping six or so boxes all tucked within each other, you got that fun new game.
You spent the evening playing World of Goo. Fun and challenging game!
Happy 10th Birthday Boo!!!! Sure love you!!!
