Deekerdoo, I cannot believe I am already writing another birthday post for you!
But on the 16th, you turned 4. And if there was ever a 4-year-old that met every classic textbook description, it would have to be you.
At 4 years old, you :
-love the color orange
-see bouncing potential in everything
-are full of fun questions
-have a big smile that always reaches your eyes
-love to make up stories and jokes and tell them to me, laughing through them yourself
-love to be read to
-wish you could have a space rocket and fly into space
-write your own name and always color in the d's and o's
-love to draw pictures and color
-would play with play dough all day if you could
-will come up and tell me with a distressed look in those big blue eyes that you have another "toenail" on your finger (a hangnail)
-have such a fun giggle
-love to pick on your brothers, but have made the lovely transition (finally) into bonding through it
-love legos and balls, baseball and card games, ice cream and fresh pears
-are really a very agreeable boy most of the time, and I thank you for it.
You are such a fun boy, with such a Curious George personality. I love all the time I get to spend with you each day, watching you learn and grow, and how excited you get about each new accomplishment. I'm so grateful to have you, and we all so love to have you in our family Deacon!
For your birthday this year, you told me you wanted a lollipop cake. So you helped me douse frosting in different colors of food coloring, and we gave it a go. Then Briah helped us make a second cake with an m&m mosaic.
For dinner you wanted homemade pizza pocket rolls and root beer.
You specifically requested that I make sure and leave you clues and wrap your present lots of times.
So I hid clues in the balloons and made a special "balloon popper" out of a pool stick, a tack, and duct tape. You covered your ears and designated one eager sibling at a time to do the honors of popping, then you'd grab the clues, have someone read them to you, and run to find your little gifts that were hidden around the house. The last one you found was your main present, and after unwrapping the multiple boxes, you were thrilled to find a new lego game.
Happy Birthday buddy!
