John, Karen, & Syringa.... in the words of Dabriah

I had so much fun going out to dinner with Uncle John and Aunt Karen, I thought that was a really cool birthday present, and mom was totally jealous, but she tried to cover it up by pretending to not want them to drive me on the icy roads. haha just kidding mom, I know you were kind of freaked out because the roads were so bad, but thanks for letting me go anyway. We only slid through one red light, and spun one 180, but  John did that one on purpose. :)

We went to a really cool restaurant called Syringa Japanese Cafe and Sushi Bar, plus made a trip to Pilgrim's Supermarket while we waited for our seats.
My favorite part about the night was trying sushi for the first time and getting to spend time with John and Karen all by myself.
Besides sushi, some other foods I got to try for the first time were fish eggs (that were in the sushi), raw fish, jumbo shrimp, crab, ginger carrot soup, and another kind of soup that had tofu and seaweed in it, which was really salty. Plus instead of lemon in my glass of water, there was a slice of cucumber, which I thought was really interesting.
Here are some pictures I took from the night :

A painting in the restaurant.

I saw these tiny plates in Pilgrim's Market, I really liked them.

Melissa calling, trying to steal my spotlight.  haha jk ;)

This looks like a giant steak, but it is a huge chunk of dark chocolate. Mom would love this.

Here are a few paintings that I liked inside the market.

These are some mocha chocolate truffles. We had some cocoa covered hand rolled truffles, but I didn't get a picture of those. They were good.

The restaurant sign

There were cool star shaped lights in the windows.

The ginger carrot soup. I like the spoon.

My beautiful Aunt Karen

My awesome Uncle John

The cucumber water

The sushi.... interesting texture, but good otherwise.

I want this painting for my room. haha

I really had a good time and loved trying all the new food, thank you so much John and Karen! :)
I hope we can do it again sometime. Love you.
