...SIX!!!
Well, due to illness we didn't get to celebrate your birthday on your birthday this year Levi, but the first chance we got we put together a fun party.
So you are six years old now!
Going to kindergarten (willingly), you have really grown so much this year.
Your favorites right now include :
-still the color green
-video games
-the movie Despicable Me
-rockets, spaceships, aliens
-mac n' cheese
-hugs
-secret hiding places
-swimming
-funny jokes
-hot cocoa
-marshmallows
-campfires
-building big castles out of blocks
-hats
-playing in the snow
-wrestling and tumbling all over with your brothers
-root beer
-checkers
-nature walks
-laughing... about anything and everything, but especially noisy bodily functions.
You are a boy through and through.
For your birthday, you requested a rocket. Very very Levi.
So everything for your big day was themed around rockets and aliens. Bri and I found some awesome alien gift bags at the dollar store, we made some alien cupcakes and rocket pops, and I decided to make you was a rocket with an astronaut and some aliens.
I sure love you Levi. Happy 6th Birthday!
Your birthday menu included your requests of ham and cheese crescent sandwiches, cool ranch doritos, sunrise orange juice with 7up, and yes... gummy bears.
We got candles with colored flames. You can't see them too well in this photo, but they were pretty cool.
Deacon with his poor red eyes... (just got antibiotics)
Oh, and you were so thrilled to get the other thing you've been asking and asking for :
your very own deodorant.
The rocket...
(It is far from perfect, but it is pretty sturdy and I met my goal to use only what I had on hand to make it. It is made from re-purposed vinegar jugs (below), stuffing from an old pillow, and some clothes that were in the goodwill bags in the garage.
The astronaut and aliens. (also made from old baby clothes and blankets from the goodwill bags, plus some pipe cleaners and googly eyes from my craft box.)
The rocket flames stuff up into the bottom, then can be pulled out on blast-off for effect.
It was most fun to make the aliens, since if they turned out ugly I knew it would be okay because they're sort of supposed to be.
Braden was so cute, there are very few words he'll make the effort to say yet (he prefers to point and use Braden sign language usually), but he ran all over the yard shouting, "bub-boos! bub-boos!"
