Isaac brought home a special friend today.
His name is Jack.
Yes, he picks his own clothes (or his brother's clothes)... Judge me, but you try telling him he can't wear it and see how that goes.
Miss K. is brilliant.
She bought a puppy for each student, and as they've signed off hours of reading, they've been able to "buy" little necessities for their puppies. A leash, a chew bone, a blanket, etc. I love fun learning incentives.
Isaac reached a particularly big reading goal, so he was able to earn a "sleepover" with Jack, so he's visiting for the night. Cute.
Then after he's been well cared for at school and received a good amount of doggie necessities, he'll get to move in here permanently at the end of the year.
I felt productive today. I've started making myself a list at the beginning of the day once the kids have gone to school. I make columns for different areas I need to work on, like house, appointments, grocery needs, important calls, etc. Under each I list 5 things. They have to be the most important 5, because they are likely all that will get done.
Today's 5 for "house" were : dishes, laundry (which means I'm happy if I wash and dry at least one load), beds, vacuum, and blanket closet.
I was especially happy to check off the blanket closet.
Do other people have locks all over their house? Probably not. My kids are probably going to grow up and remember home being like an insane asylum with locked doors everywhere. There are at least 6 key locking doorknobs inside our house (if you have a Levi, you understand)...They include the playroom closet, the pantry, the guest bathroom and now the blanket closet. Judge if you must, but they save me some much needed sanity.
The kids have warm blankets on their beds, and I don't mind a blanket fort once in a while, but when day after day every single blanket we own ends up strewn around the house, then covered in spaghetti sauce or peanut butter... well.
So I pulled all the wadded up balls of blankets and sheets out today, folded and stacked them in the orderly way I so love, put them neatly on the shelves, then installed the lock.
There were a few other cute shots on my camera, so here are some more glimpses
from March so far....
Enjoying breakfast in the sunshine...
Braden loves Cassi and Muffi.
