A few things my kids have said lately :
Deacon : "Mommy, do you agwee that Wexxi and Wevi are were-woof-es?"
Do I agree that Lexxi and Levi are were-wolves? um...
Isaac (while out back as we burned our harvested garden), shakes his head and says :
"We're making a lot of Carbon 14."
Isaac (while we waited in the van for the girls after their Rhythm class, we were playing pictionary. I was drawing, and Levi and Deacon guessed things like "a car" or "a dog", then Isaac shouts :
"oh, I know! It's a wire-cable suspension bridge!"
I stopped drawing and just looked at him, and he smiles excitedly, "I'm right, aren't I!"
Isaac has also been obsessed with crystal-making lately. He comes home nearly every single day with pages full of notes he's copied from a science book in his class on how to grow crystals. We have been trying a few methods, and the current experiment lives on my kitchen windowsill. He's also been bringing home various rocks, and then he and Lexxi sit out back with science goggles on, smashing little rocks all over the patio to see what they look like inside. They are so hoping to find crystals. (John, if you lived closer, this kid would be your shadow.)
Braden : went from pointing and grunting to just talking in full sentences overnight. (I think I did the same thing, right Mom?) The other morning as I hugged him good morning and said "I love you Buggy", he whispered back so sweetly, "Wuv you." for the first time and just melted me.
Then just a few days ago I put cheese in his roll and handed it to him. He took one look, scowled, and said, "Di-duh-dee!" (that would be "disgusting"... nice.). And when I tell him sternly to stop doing something, he either smiles and says ever so simply and sweetly, "nope." or else yells "never!".
And I shouldn't even record this one, but the other day Braden was mad at Levi for something, so he walked up to him, turned his rear-end toward him, made a fart noise (with his mouth), then laughed and ran off. Levi laughed too, and I just closed my eyes and sighed. You can take one wild guess at who it was that taught him that one.
And speaking of....Levi has the magic touch with little Onyx. He holds him like a human baby and gently rubs under his chin, and no matter how energetic that little kitty was even 5 seconds prior, he falls into a sleepy trance.
Deacon would like to have that same magic touch with Ebony. (does she so look like a gremlin here?)
Unfortunately, she's not nearly as fond of Deacon as Onyx is of Levi...
Deacon is examining the claw that just took a swipe at him.
And here are a few pics I caught from breakdance class last week....
The boys are really having fun with this.
