It's already the end of May. The girls had showcase for CYT last night, and are officially done until fall. They had sooo much fun in Hercules. It was such a great play.
The girls were Hades minions, and it was actually pretty fun to have them in the bad guy roles. No putting in curlers at night, they got to have messy (as in ratty, sticking up all over the place on purpose) hair, and makeup that looked creepy. Their costumes had real bones all over them, and whenever they were on stage they would hiss and fight.
Nicole was the flying sassy little Cupid, Jessica was the lovely Greek Goddess Hera. Bri and Lexx were part of the shadow monsters, which were super cool, and we had a hydra monster that came from the ceiling, first with one head, then once Hercules defeated it, it came back again with 3 heads. So so cool.

I'm really grateful we have this program available to my kids. I hope to get Isaac and maybe Levi in CYT in the fall too.

Braden is getting more personality by the day. He says the funniest things lately, out of nowhere. The other day he came in my bathroom where I was getting ready, and said, "Mommy, wook at me." I looked down to see him with his red jammie pants pulled way up high on his waist (think Steve Erkel), and then he smiles and says, "I a cowboy." Which made me laugh.

He also loves to play the slug bug game with Deacon and I whenever we go somewhere. Though the other day I found myself feeling pretty lame as I had this conversation with my 3- and 5-year olds.

Me : "Slug bug, cream color, no returns. Ha, I got one."
Deacon : "No, you forgot to say cweam and bwack mommy. So swug bug, cweam and bwack, I got it."
Me : (scowl) "Deacon, it only has black on the fender."
Deacon : "Well, you have to say awww da cowors, or someone ewse gets it."

Then, a little later :
Me : "Slug bug, red bug, no returns."
Braden : "No, Mommy, I got dat one."
Me : "You did not, you didn't say anything."
Deacon : "Yeah, Mommy, Bwaden saw that one fiwst, wet him have it."
Me : "He did not. I got one, dangit."
Braden : "No, I got it Mommy." (in mean tone)
Me : "Fine. I don't even know why I play this game with you two."

Sigh.
