Hello Blog. You are one neglected little piece of cyber space lately, aren't you....
We got back from vacation and life got back to busy.
So here's a catch-up post, so you can remind me of these times. Thanks Blog.
When we got back from our trip, we spent pretty much the next week just re-cooping. Then we got out and took up the task of cleaning all that Oregon dirt and children's leftover food out of our vehicles that we brought home with us. Kids had a blast helping.

Made this delicacy for dinner the other night. Found the idea on another blog and knew my children were just the type of kids who would appreciate it. It's spaghetti "squids", noodles threaded through hot dog slices, then boiled, and we added grated cheddar cheese on top. They loved it.
After a week of catching up on cleaning after vacation, we spent the following week getting the school room as ready as we could before the start of school. It's still getting touch-ups as we go, but here are some pictures so far.
The microwave and little fridge have been sitting in our garage for the last year and a half. The kids thought it'd be fun to bring them in the school room to hold snacks and lunch stuff, and so we can pop popcorn during art time.
The girls had an over-the door shoe holder that wasn't being used, and it worked perfectly for organizing supplies: glue, tape, scissors, pencils, crayons, etc.
On one wall we have an 8-foot sheet of white laminate hung up, which works perfectly as a whiteboard. (and it only costed $14 at Home Depot)
Deacon enjoyed helping decorate too, as I later discovered these stickers all over the window sill.

After surviving the rafting on Paulina Lake way the heck down in Oregon, we decided to start giving our very own Lake CDA a go at it too.
Deacon got to hold the big bag of m&m's.......yeah, he was pretty happy. (intoxicated with chocolate may be the more appropriate terminology....)
And Braden did so good this time. Not a peep. Just kept looking around at all the scenery.

And then starting this week, as of Monday Aug. 31st, we're back to school, and enjoying it so far. I won't say it's a piece of cake to homeschool, and many of you fully understand. But having a complete room set aside for it makes such a huge difference this year, the kids and I are loving that.

I love the school room!! It turned out so good, and it makes me want to do that. Its very organized, I love all the compartments and creative ways (shoe holder) you stored your supplies! I can't wait to see it in person! You are amazing. :)
Man I wish I could be as amazing as you. I would so love to homeschool my kids. Especially with the schools here in Memphis. I just hope I can move west sooner than later. Your kids are so stinking cute too.
