Baseball and Braided Sweet Bread

Seems like it gets harder and harder to find time to blog these days! I actually started this post last night and fell asleep in the middle of uploading pictures.....

But amazingly at this particular moment, the kids are done with their lessons, they are all playing together building things out of lincoln logs, the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer are all running, the upstairs and downstairs are relatively clean and orderly, and basically the stars are all aligned so I can write a quick post and re-cap of this very busy past week.

I should maybe have done this in several posts instead of cramming them all into one, but oh well.

This is how we spent our school day Thursday. We made a blueberry cream cheese braided sweet bread loaf, and a pizza style one filled with sausage, bacon, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. Sometimes school should just be fun. And tasty.

Another day this week, I got to go out with this handsome little man. We shopped and shared some cookies, and he talked up a storm about all the "gi-wees" (girlies) that were at Ross and held onto an orange metal airplane and a little wooden kitty with a broken ear the whole time.

This munchkin's been working on his top left tooth all week. Thankfully for the most part he's a pretty happy teether, but he does bite on occasion (particularly me--right on the shoulder whenever I pick him up), and he thinks it's hilarious to blow slobbery raspberries on anyone who dares stick their face within range. Including sweet little old ladies at the store who bend down to say hello to him.

Kids helped me make some hotdog and little smokies pigs in blankets.
We had a "feast" as Levi called it, of chips and nachos, pigs in blankets, grapes and fresh sliced pineapple, crackers and cheese.

Isaac's pirate face that he makes during Loot whenever he attacks a ship. Such a funny kid.

And trying to catch some pictures of Braden crawling, but he turns and comes at the camera so fast they always turn out like this.

And I guess my time is up because all I can hear now from downstairs are "Unhand me!" (seriously), "Mommy!", giggling and lincoln logs dropping by handfuls from somewhere high... and from that all too familiar banging sound it is apparent that someone is spinning and smacking into the wall on my rotating recliner. ......back to it.

Wow that braided bread looked amazing. I don't know if I could do something as elaborate looking as that turned out to be. You are the best daughter in law he will love that gift. I'm glad you were able to do that for him.

Love the braided bread! I'm going to try that. Is it a special recipe or just a pizza dough recipe! you do so many fun things as a mom. Thanks for sharing.

The braided bread is just your basic sweet roll recipe/cinnamon roll dough. Or make it super easy and use refrigerated breadstick dough like the Pillsbury kind in a can, works great too. I was going to do it that way myself but couldn't find any at the particular grocery store I went to and got impatient so just made the dough myself.

The recipe for the blueberry cream cheese one can be found here and is SO good! http://southernhospitalityblog.com/blueberry-cream-cheese-braided-loaf/
