I let the kids stay home today. We all needed it.
I didn't plan to let them, it just sort of worked out that way.

When I went to wake Levi, he was SO grouchy and just fought me on everything. "I don't want to wear that shirt, I hate that shirt!" "I hate that one too. I hate all my shirts!" Why? "Because they all have sleeves and tags. I hate sleeves and tags!" at which point I put the blanket back on him, walked out and decided to let him get a little extra rest today.

As for Isaac and Lexxi, well I got them off to the bus stop but they came back home, noses red and shivering, almost an hour later and said the bus had not come. What the? So I let them stay home too, and we all took it easy. It was pretty dark all day, with just gray cloud cover and drizzle, so we baked cinnamon rolls.

Briah looked at Lexxi sleeping by the tree and then to her own school work and said, "I wish I was Lexxi."
Levi says, "I wish I was Ty." and Deacon says, "I wish I was you Levi." Isaac thought for a second, then said "I just want to be me. I have everything I need. A mom, food, a house, water, blankets..."
Then  he said, "Besides Mommy, this is a great house. When I grow up and you move out like your mom did, you can come over and I'll make you cinnamon rolls." And I just laughed and said, "Oh, that's how it works huh....".
Love them.
